CEI Crane & Rigging held an open house at their new more than 200,000 total square-foot headquarters in Massillon on June 20, 2025, celebrating the company’s 60 years in business and the new location.
Formerly known as Canton Erectors Inc., CEI Crane & Rigging remains a family-owned company, founded by Neil Selinsky. Current owner and president Brian Selinsky took over in 2001; he has been with the company nearly 40 years total.
While many things have stayed the same – the principles of hard work, safety, community service and family values, today, CEI Crane & Rigging is a global provider and leader in crane and rigging services, heavy hauling, turnkey full-factory relocations, machinery warehousing, shipping and crating (both domestically and internationally) and more.
“Celebrating 60 years is important to us,” says Brian Selinsky. “Our ability to continue to grow and expand has been due to the dedication of our entire team. We wanted to take the time to recognize the results of our collective efforts.”

Room for Expansion
At the new location, the company has space for expansion, as well as two heated, indoor storage facilities, located on more than 20 acres. The company has a vast, on-site inventory of equipment, including cranes of all sizes, boom trucks, forklifts and, with the acquisition of Starrett Service in 2023, a full fleet of heavy haul trucks.
“We say whatever the job, we can handle it,” says Selinsky. “Either we have the crane onsite or we can get it. And we have certified, experienced crane operators and truck drivers on staff, so we provide 24/7 service, including emergency service.”
CEI Crane & Rigging also offers heated warehouse space rental for customers that need storage for large pieces of equipment.

Company Milestones
The company began in 1964 with just one crane, a 15-ton Grove, the first hydraulic crane in Stark County. As the company continually added equipment, it purchased more space, moving to 2009 Quimby Ave, SW in Canton in 1985.
Beginning in 1998, the company started working for The Timken Company and over the years has worked for many notable local companies, such as the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Goodyear Tire & Rubber.
In Spring of 2024, the company moved to their current location and officially changed their name from Canton Erectors, Inc. to CEI Crane & Rigging.
Crane Rental for Any Size Job
From the start, Canton Erectors filled a need in the market for crane and lifting services. Old newspaper clippings, saved by the company, show their involvement in hoisting a large AC unit to the roof of Massillon City Hospital and helping with the JC Penney store construction at the newly built Mellett Mall (now Canton Centre) in 1965. They helped install cultural landmarks such as the Pegasus statue at the Canton Cultural Arts Center and the University of Mount Union bell tower.
Now, with a vast fleet of cranes for rent that includes everything from 240-ton all terrain to smaller cranes such as the 8-ton industrial crane, CEI Crane & Rigging performs jobs across the country. They receive, store, deliver and set and handle full factory moves for industrial clients both large and small.
Every CEI Crane & Rigging crane operator is fully certified by the NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators).
Heavy Hualing
With the acquisition of Starrett Service in 2023, the company expanded their fleet of trucks. CEI Crane & Rigging specializes in hauling objects with large dimensions and overweight loads, providing professionally certified riggers and millwrights. For moving, assembling and placing large pieces of machinery or full factory moves, CEI Crane & Rigging has the equipment and the experience to handle any size job.
Commitment to the Community
Throughout their history, the company has contributed to local organizations, particularly Habitat for Humanity. In 2001, CEI Crane & Rigging partnered with the organization and dedicated their first home in remembrance of former president, Michael Selinsky. By donating our crane services, CEI Crane & Rigging has helped to build more than 200 homes.
“Being a contributing factor to good things happening in our community will always be a focus,” said Selinsky. “While our reach is now global, our roots are here in the Stark County area and always will be.”
