SECO Machine Move

Challenge

Established in 1985, Seco Machine is an industry leader in comprehensive contract manufacturing and metal machining, including turning, milling and grinding. In 2010, the company expanded its capabilities to include custom cast urethane production and compression molded parts. Seco’s ancillary services include warehousing, production sawing, light assembly, heat treatments, coatings and specialty packaging.

Need

Driven by high customer demand, Seco Machine has experienced tremendous growth, and the company needed to move to a larger building to continue production. With multiple production lines containing large and heavy machinery, Seco Machine turned to its trusted partner of more than 20 years to handle the move. That partner was CEI Crane & Rigging.

Result

Millwright services for heavy equipment moving. Flexible scheduling.
“We always strive to develop a project plan that meets the needs and timeframe of our customers.”

As Seco Machine expanded its manufacturing services and entered new markets, the company quickly outgrew its North Canton production plant. While building a new 120,000-square-foot facility in Green, Ohio, Seco needed a partner it could trust to relocate its machines without disrupting production. Having worked together for more than 20 years, Seco turned to CEI Crane & Rigging, which had already handled nearly 99 percent of Seco’s previous machine moves and plant relocations.

Although the new facility was only a short distance away, the move required careful coordination around Seco Machine’s active production schedule. CEI Crane & Rigging worked with extreme flexibility, moving just one or two machines at a time, typically each week, to ensure production goals were met. Using a combination of forklifts and trucks, CEI relocated a variety of large machines, including Samsung and Herco models in the 25-ton range, as well as smaller 3-ton machines.

From dismantling and transportation to reassembly, CEI Crane & Rigging’s experienced millwright team managed every phase of the project. The full relocation was completed within three months without slowing Seco’s production, reinforcing a long-standing partnership built on trust, adaptability, and consistent execution.
