“CEI’s professionalism and their commitment to the project ensured that we kept our promises.”
Beginning in 2017, OSHA introduced new hazard regulations for anyone working at elevated heights. To meet these stricter requirements, The Timken Company needed to install horizontal lifelines across its Northern Ohio manufacturing facilities, knowing that non compliance was not an option. The scope was significant, with more than five miles of lifeline arrest equipment required across 15 plants. Complicating matters further, Timken could not pause operations, meaning all work had to be completed during off shifts and weekends under a tight timeline.
To manage the scale and complexity of the project, Mazzella Lifting Technologies partnered with CEI. CEI brought extensive installation expertise, certified welders, and full project management capabilities to the table. Their prior experience as an approved contractor for Timken helped streamline coordination and reduce startup time. From the outset, CEI supported an accelerated schedule, allowing the project to begin in under two weeks.
Throughout the installation, CEI acted as Mazzella’s on site representative, overseeing schedules and coordinating daily operations for up to 15 technicians. Their professionalism and commitment ensured that the project stayed on track and met the high service standards Mazzella is known for. From planning through installation and welding, CEI played a critical role in delivering a complex solution safely and on time.
