Having a large fleet of on-site industrial cranes, boom trucks, lift trucks and heavy haul trucks allows CEI to respond quickly with the right equipment for the job. With the recent acquisition of TR Crane & Towing, CEI has added a boom truck with a lifting capacity of 90,000 lb. with a 127-foot boom.
CEI is a global provider of crane services, crane rental, rigging, heavy hauling, machinery moving, warehousing of heavy machinery, crating and shipping (both domestically and internationally) and turnkey plant relocation services. CEI maintains a vast fleet of equipment, and when TR Crane & Towing joined the CEI Crane & Rigging family of companies in June, the addition of another boom truck option is one more tool available to meet client needs.
What Is a Boom Truck?
A boom truck combines a flatbed truck with a hydraulic crane. Boom trucks are useful for lifting heavy loads and transporting materials. To increase efficiency and productivity, a boom truck might be the equipment you need.
A boom truck allows an experienced crane operator to use this multi-purpose vehicle to lift heavy loads, transport materials on the flatbed portion of the boom truck and reach high locations for lifting and installation purposes.
How are Hydraulic Cranes Different from Boom Trucks?
A boom truck’s integration with a hydraulic crane and a truck makes it easy for both transportation to locations and lifting tasks once on the job. The crane, sometimes called the “boom,” extends and allows the operator to lift heavy-duty objects.
Rent a Boom Truck
There are a variety of reasons a business would rent a boom truck. Boom trucks offer versatile capabilities, making it easier to lift and position heavy and objects. When you rent a boom truck from CEI Crane & Rigging, you get the exact equipment you need for the job and a certified operator.
This size boom truck is a good choice for:
- Tree removal service
- House and garage truss lifting and hauling
- Smaller HVAC unit placements
- Signage placement
- Installing equipment
- Moving bulky materials
- Maintenance and repair on machinery that is high off the ground
- Bridge repair
- Building repair
- Telecommunications infrastructure
- Construction projects
- Infrastructure projects
- Industrial projects
These are just some of ways a boom truck can be used. The boom truck CEI recently added to the fleet is an Elliott 45127. This boom truck has five-section, fully proportional, high-strength, steel-plated rectangular tube sections. When mounted on the truck, the maximum boom tip height is 192 feet. The heavy-duty boom tip design adds strength when using jibs.
If you need a different size boom truck for rent, CEI has a large fleet and can obtain any size needed for your job.
